After launchNever pay to keep it
switched on.

Squarespace and Wix bill you every month for the privilege of keeping your own website live. I don't, and I never will: hosting comes with the site, for as long as you have it. Looking after it afterwards is a separate thing, and entirely your choice.

Included with every site

Hosting, SSL and backups

Your site sits on the same global network the big platforms use. It costs me almost nothing to run, so it costs you nothing at all: no renewal, no invoice you'd forgotten was coming.

Included with every site

If I built it wrong, I fix it

Hand-coded static sites have no plugins to fail and nothing to patch. If something goes wrong with the site as I built it, that's mine to sort out, with no clock running and no argument.

Nothing to cancel

No contract, no lock-in

No notice period, no penalty, nothing that renews behind your back. Your domain stays in your name and on your card; I just point it at the right place.

Yours outright

You own the site

Not licensed, not rented: once it's paid for, it's yours. If you ever want to take it elsewhere I'll hand over the files and help you move, free of charge. That was never in question.

Optional, cancel any timeWebsite Care.

For businesses that would rather send me a message than think about it. Most people take it; nobody has to.

From £45 a month. Pay yearly and two months are on me.

PlanMonthlyYearly
Essentials£45 / month£450 a year
Commerce£65 / month£650 a year
Signaturefrom £85 / monthfrom £850 a year

Charities and societies pay around 20% less, from £36 a month.

  • Time for changes every month. One hour on Essentials, two on Commerce and three on Signature. As a guide, an hour is typically a batch of six to eight new images, a news item and a text change.
  • Anything beyond that at £75 an hour, not £95, and quoted before I start, as always.
  • Changes go in monthly rounds. Send everything in one message and it goes live in one update. Any time you don't use rolls over, up to six hours.
  • Two working days. Your changes go to the front of the queue, and I'll tell you in advance if I'm away.
  • An honest review once a year. We sit down and look at what's gone stale: the opening hours that changed, the photo you've outgrown, the service you quietly stopped offering.
  • Uptime monitoring. If your site goes down, I generally know before you do.

Not on the plan? Nothing changes about your site. You just pay for changes as you need them, at £95 an hour, quoted first. Small jobs have a half-hour minimum of £50. Start the plan later, pause it, or never take it at all: your site works exactly the same either way.

How it works.

  1. 01

    We talk

A relaxed chat about your business, your customers, and what the site needs to do. No jargon, no upselling. You get a fixed quote at the end of it.

  2. 02

    I build

I design and hand-code your site around your brand, with previews to react to as it takes shape.

  3. 03

    You launch

Live on fast, secure hosting, included for as long as you have the site. Then looked after, so it never goes stale.

Pricing questions.

Is the price really fixed?

Yes. Once we've agreed what the site needs to do, you get a fixed quote and that's what you pay. If you later ask for something outside that scope, I'll quote it separately before I start, so nothing ever arrives as a surprise.

Do I have to pay a monthly fee to keep my site online?

No. Hosting, SSL and backups are included for as long as you have the site, with no monthly charge. The Website Care plan is entirely optional.

What if I want changes after launch but don't take the care plan?

Just ask. Changes are charged at £95 an hour, with a half-hour minimum of £50 for small jobs, and always quoted before I start. On the care plan the rate drops to £75 an hour, after the change time the plan already includes.

Who owns the website and the domain?

You do. Once it's paid for, the site is yours outright, not licensed or rented, and your domain stays in your name. If you ever want to move elsewhere I'll hand over the files and help you move, free of charge.

Do charities and societies pay less?

Yes. Registered charities and volunteer-run societies pay around 20% less on builds, and the care plan starts at £36 a month. More on working with societies.

Is there anything the price doesn't cover?

Copywriting and logo design are available as add-ons, quoted alongside the site. Your domain name is registered in your name and paid for by you, and if your site takes payments the payment provider charges its own fees.

The full details are in the terms and conditions.

How long does it take?

An Essentials site typically takes 3 to 4 weeks from the day I receive your content, and a Commerce site 5 to 6 weeks. For Signature projects we agree the timeline at the start. The biggest variable is how quickly the photos and words arrive.

What do you need from me?

Your logo if you have one, your photographs, the words for each page, and who to talk to when decisions need making. If you'd rather not write the words, I can write them for you as an add-on. A short kick-off chat covers the rest.

Tell me about
your idea.

No obligation, no hard sell. A friendly chat about what you're after and whether I'm the right fit.
